Job Description

The Regina Area of the Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking dynamic and exceptional Hepatologist to be part of our dynamic and expanding department.

A rewarding fee-for-service, community based practice opportunity awaits you in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Hepatologist would be accommodated within current regional resources from within Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine.

The gastroenterology program within our region is very progressive and maintains state-of-the-art equipment such as: high definition endoscopes, endoscopic ultrasound, fibroscan, double balloon enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy and a new x-ray facility in our GI Unit.

The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Medicine has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina (https://medicine.usask.ca/department/clinical/medicine.php).

Job Qualifications

Applicants must have completed a subspecialty residency-training program in Internal Medicine or Gastroenterology, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent and have completed a Fellowship in Hepatology. Applicants should be eligible for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan as determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
