Job Description

The successful candidate(s) will support our team to provide locum Paediatric services to the patients of southwest Saskatchewan at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The scope of practice includes inpatient and outpatient care, emergency consults and specialist on-call coverage..

Call is 1:3.

0800 May 17, 2024 to 0800 May 21, 2024.

0800 June 24, 2024 to 0800 July 1, 2024.

0800 July 8, 2024 to 0800 July 15, 2024.

0800 July 22, 2024 to 0800 July 29, 2024.

0800 August 5, 2024 to 0800 August 12, 2024.

0800 August 19, 2024 to 0800 August 26, 2024.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The start dates for these positions are immediate. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Additional Information

The Cypress Regional Hospital provides a variety of services including, but not limited to Emergency, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, on-site Radiology services and an intensive care unit. The Regional Hospital also provides satellite Renal Dialysis and a Community Oncology Outreach Program. Secondary services, such as Ophthalmology, Urology, and visiting specialists such as Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Orthopedics are also offered in Swift Current. The Cypress Regional Hospital has 91 acute care beds and is the flagship for acute care in the south west area and supports the community hospitals and their communities to deliver services together.

Community Description

Swift Current is a city of 18,000 people serving approximately 50,000 people in the surrounding area.
