$298,763.20 - $345,888.80 per contract year. 4-step primary health care compensation grid for 0.8 FTE inclusive of 176 clinic days per year and on-call requirements

Emergency room coverage will be remunerated through the Rural Emergency Room Agreement for Services at $255.96 per hour

Call Schedule Description:
24-hour on-call coverage is required for hospital inpatients, home care and long-term care residents, as well as for critical lab values. Currently, the on-call responsibilities are shared equitably among physicians in the community.

Job Description

The community of Moosomin, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a team orientated and professional family physician to join their primary health care team. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing primary health care services to the community of Moosomin and surrounding area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the acute care and emergency services in the area.

This position is based on two services - A 0.8 FTE primary health care agreement and an emergency room agreement to provide on-site emergency room coverage at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre.

This position will remain posted until it has been filled and may be filled prior to closing date.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for fulltime work.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Successful Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
