Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a family physician to provide Locum physician services in the Biggar & District Health Centre and Biggar Medical Clinic located in the Town of Biggar.

The Biggar medical practice includes all aspects of family medicine including acute care, Diagnostics/X-Ray, 24/7 Emergency Room, Long Term Care and Lab. Physicians will provide patient care and on call emergency coverage. This Physician will work closely with nurses, and other members of the health care team to meet the specific needs of this community and its surrounding area. Biggar is a town in central Saskatchewan. It is located on Highway 14, 93 kilometers west of Saskatoon. Biggar is a great place to raise a family. Biggar boasts a large number of facilities, which can support a large variety of recreational activities such as the Biggar Aquatic Centre and the Recreation Complex. Job Qualifications

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

The candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan. Applicants will also hold ACLS certification.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The start date for this position is August 2024. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
