Job Description

The community of Redvers, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a team orientated and professional family physician to join their primary healthcare team. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing primary healthcare services to the community of Redvers and surrounding area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the acute care and emergency services in the area.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area.

This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Rural Physician Incentive Program which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practising, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practise in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for fulltime work.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Regular or provisional licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
