Job Description

The community of Yorkton, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is actively recruiting a General Ophthalmologist. This position provides the candidate with the opportunity to operate their own outpatient private practice and utilize the Yorkton Regional Health Centre for procedures. As part of the local team, the candidate will provide surgical, inpatient, and emergency services at the Yorkton Regional Health Center. Itinerant ophthalmology services may be required throughout the southeast area of the province. On-call coverage is required.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Specialist Recruitment Incentive program, which provides $30,000 to an eligible specialist that establishes a practice for a minimum of thirty-six months in a Saskatchewan community.
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial rewards to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for full-time service.
  • Relocation funding may be available with a return of service - inquire for details

Equipment funding and Residency/Fellowship training funding may be available through the Hospital Foundation of South Central Saskatchewan in exchange for a Return for Service. Inquire for details. Residents in years 3 to 5 are encouraged to reach out prior to completion of their program to discuss residency funding options.
