The successful candidate will join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Regina, Saskatchewan, establish a community fee-for-service practice, and be appointed faculty with the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine. The physician will provide ambulatory and surgical care for women, participate in both the obstetrics and gynecology call rotas, and participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Specialists maintain a fee-for-service, independent practice. Call coverage is shared with a patient-centered and cooperative call group within the specialty, and an on-call premium is provided for on-call availability.   A city-wide pooled referrals system for obstetrics and gynecology consultation will support the successful candidate in establishing their practice.

Obstetrical & Gynecological services are based at the Regina General Hospital. There are approximately 4,000 deliveries each year at Regina General Hospital, with approximately 3,000 deliveries done by the in-house Obstetrics call group. Specialists are supported by a complete range of neonatal, pediatric, medical, and surgical sub-specialists.

The operating theatres have recently been renovated and are state-of-the-art for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.  All gynecologic surgeons are allocated a minimum of one day per month in the main operating theatre.  The Women’s Health Centre provides outpatient gynecologic procedures including hysteroscopy and colposcopy.  Access to the Women’s Health Centre procedure rooms will also be available based on the successful candidate’s preferred scope of gynecologic practice.
