Compensation is through Fee-for-Service billing based on the provincial fee schedule. On-call emergency coverage through the Saskatchewan Emergency Coverage Program. Job Description

Saskatchewan Health Authority – North, is seeking two (2) full-time internists. The specialists will join our team of 3 Internal Medicine Specialists, in an independent, community-based, fee-for-service internal medicine practice. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team providing a wide scope of internal medicine services for the growing population of Prince Albert and Northern Saskatchewan.

Our internists have admitting and consulting privileges and provide service at the Victoria Hospital.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must hold certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and be eligible for provisional or regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan.

The Victoria Hospital is a regional hospital with 164 acute care beds including an 8 bed intensive care unit that provides services to a population of 80,000 which includes northern and northeastern Saskatchewan. Dubbed “The Gateway to the North”, Prince Albert is in close proximity to a multitude of freshwater lakes and woodlands with outdoor activities for every season.

Community Description

Prince Albert is the 3rd largest city in Saskatchewan with a population of 39,737. Located in the broad valley of the North Saskatchewan River, near the geographical center of the province where the agricultural prairie of the south and the rich forest belt of the north meet.
