Job Description

The Nipawin Medi-Clinic operates as a primary healthcare group practice where physicians provide services for approximately 4,500 people within the community plus surrounding area as well as services in the Nipawin Hospital. There are 11 family physicians practicing in Nipawin.

Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Perform and assist in routine surgery, Deliver babies and provide pre-natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.
