Job Description

Saskatchewan Health Authority – North East, seeking an Adult Psychiatrist for full time work. The successful candidate will possess a strong team approach and join a collegial group practice of Psychiatrists who enjoy a broad scope of practice including outpatients, acute care and shared call responsibilities.

The Victoria Hospital is a regional hospital with 164 acute care beds including an 8 bed intensive care unit that provides services to a population of 80,000 which includes northern and northeastern Saskatchewan. Dubbed “The Gateway to the North”, Prince Albert is in close proximity to a multitude of freshwater lakes and woodlands with outdoor activities for every season.

  • Job Qualifications

    Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or have a valid letter of eligibility (not required if eligible for Ministerial License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan). Must be eligible for Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage.

    Community Description

    Prince Albert is the 3rd largest city in Saskatchewan with a population of 39,737. Located in the broad valley of the North Saskatchewan River, near the geographical center of the province where the agricultural prairie of the south and the rich forest belt of the north meet. Highways 2, 11, 55, 302 and 3 all connect in Prince Albert. Within an hour’s drive, you will enjoy lakes, golf courses, ski trails, great fishing, hunting and other recreational opportunities. There is a vibrant arts community in Prince Albert and an Arts Centre that attracts numerous local and national events. There is sports center with an indoor soccer pitch, walking track, gym, climbing wall and gymnasium. PA is home to the WHL Raiders hockey team which practices and has games at the Art Hauser Centre. There is a gymnastic club, swim team, various dance studios and numerous city/community leagues for the sport enthusiast. There is a ski/snowboard hill and many cross country ski trails (some lite at night) at Little Red, a municipal park just outside of Prince Albert with numerous hiking/biking trails. There is no shortage of things to enjoy and do in and around Prince Albert.
