The specialist will join our team of 14 internal medicine specialists, in an independent, community-based, fee-for-service internal medicine practice. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team providing a wide scope of internal medicine services for the growing population of Regina and southern Saskatchewan.
Our internists have admitting and consulting privileges and provide service at our two acute care sites (Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital). The Pasqua Hospital, a community-based hospital and referral center, specializes in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Pediatric Oncology and is home to our Accountable Care Unit (http://www.rqhealth.ca/department/patient-flow/accountable-care-unit. The Regina General Hospital, our trauma center represents all major surgical specialties, except transplant and is home to our Medical Teaching Unit.
The Regina Area with the Saskatchewan Health Authority is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.
Call coverage is a requirement for the position. In addition to fee-for-service, you would be eligible for any on-call retainer consistent with the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program.

The SMA has a Specialist Recruitment Incentive, which recognizes the commitments of specialists establishing practices in Saskatchewan. The grant provides $30,000 to an eligible specialist who establishes practice in a Saskatchewan community for a minimum of 36 months.

Successful candidates for the above position will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and be eligible for provisional or regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan. Preference will be given to candidates with RCPSC designation in General Internal Medicine.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
