Job Description

The Regina Area is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented, fellowship-trained urogynecologist for a contracted position within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The successful candidate will participate in a balanced practice that includes on-call responsibilities, operating room time, and outpatient clinic care, contributing to a high-quality, patient-centered model of women’s health services.

Urogynecologists in Regina maintain independent practices within a supportive and collaborative environment. There are currently two practicing urogynecologists in the city, and a centralized, city-wide pooled referral system for gynecology consultations ensures a strong and consistent patient base, with more than 800 urogynecology referrals annually. Call responsibilities are shared among a collegial and patient-focused group, with an on-call premium provided. Participation in the gynecology call rotation is required, while involvement in the obstetrical call rotation is optional and may be tailored to the successful candidate’s desired scope of practice.

Gynecological and obstetrical services are primarily based at the Regina General Hospital, where recently renovated, state-of-the-art operating theatres support advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Subspecialist surgeons are guaranteed a minimum of three operating days per month, averaged annually, with additional time allocated based on clinical demand and waitlists. Cystoscopy services are available in the ambulatory endoscopy suite for a minimum of two half-days per month. The Women’s Health Centre further supports outpatient procedures, including hysteroscopy and colposcopy, with access to procedure rooms aligned with the successful candidate’s clinical interests and scope of practice.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is committed to education and supports the training of medical students and residents in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment and will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and mentorship within an academic environment.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in obstetrics and gynecology, be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and have completed fellowship training in urogynecology.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The start date for this position is negotiable. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
