Job Description

The Provincial Health Authority, South East Area - Yorkton, Saskatchewan is seeking applicants for two permanent, fulltime Emergency Medicine Specialists. The positions, available February 1, 2020, will consist of 12 hour shifts for 1440 hours annually. As part of the Emergency Medicine team, you will be responsible for providing clinical medical services to individuals presenting to the emergency department, including trauma, stroke and pediatric care.

Relocation Package

Remuneration is on a contractual basis ranging from $371,977 - $420,174 annually for fulltime work. Relocation Assistance may be available from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Job Qualifications

Saskatchewan Health Authority, South East Area, with its Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, requires 2 Emergency Medicine Specialists. Candidates must have Fellowship with Royal College of Physician (FRCP) or certification with Canadian College of Family Physicians in Emergency Medicine (CCFP-EM). The successful candidates must be registered and licensed to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Physicians must maintain membership and insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association and must be legally entitled to work in Canada. The successful candidates are required to hold current certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Ultrasound skills are an asset and Newborn Resuscitation certification will be required or expected to obtain. Language of work is English.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to become a member of Practitioner Staff and provide care in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities.

The City of Yorkton is located in the south east area of the province, with a population just under 20,000 people. The referral population for our specialty services is approximately 100,000. The area extends itself north, south and east and across the Manitoba border.
