The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), North East Area, is seeking permanent Emergency Medicine Physicians to join the team at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Victoria Hospital serves a large and diverse catchment area, extending from central Saskatchewan to the border of the Northwest Territories. This high-acuity Emergency Department provides physicians with the opportunity to practice a wide scope of emergency medicine, including complex medical presentations and trauma, making it an excellent environment for both early-career physicians seeking strong clinical exposure and experienced physicians looking for a rewarding and dynamic practice.
Victoria Hospital is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar expansion aimed at increasing overall capacity by 40%. The project includes a state-of-the-art heliport on the roof, an expanded Emergency Department, and northern Saskatchewan’s first MRI—enhancing both patient care and clinical opportunities for physicians.
As a University of Saskatchewan–affiliated teaching site, Victoria Hospital offers opportunities to teach and mentor medical students and residents from across Canada. The Victoria Hospital is a regional hospital with 164 acute care beds including a 9 bed intensive care unit that provides services to a population of 80,000 which includes northern and northeastern Saskatchewan. Dubbed “The Gateway to the North”, Prince Albert is in close proximity to a multitude of freshwater lakes and woodlands with outdoor activities for every season.

Prince Albert is the 3rd largest city in Saskatchewan with a population of 39,737. Located in the broad valley of the North Saskatchewan River, near the geographical center of the province where the agricultural prairie of the south and the rich forest belt of the north meet. Highways 2, 11, 55, 302 and 3 all connect in Prince Albert. Within an hour’s drive, you will enjoy lakes, golf courses, ski trails, great fishing, hunting and other recreational opportunities.
