Call rota is arranged within the department, shared among the Anesthesiologists. on - call is required. Per the Specialist Emergency Call Program (SECP)

Job Description

A permanent, full-time position is available for an Anesthesiologist, with excellent professional and communication skills. The successful candidate will work from the Yorkton Regional Health Centre (270 Bradbrooke Drive Yorkton, SK. S3N 2K6); an 86-bed acute care referral center. Service is also provided to residents of the surrounding rural facilities/health centers. On-call coverage is required on a rotational basis. Itinerant services may be required in facilities in the southeast area of the province. Language of work is English.

Relocation Package

The successful applicant may apply for the Specialist Recruitment Incentive offered through the Saskatchewan Medical Association, which provides $30,000.00 to an eligible specialist that establishes a practice for a minimum of thirty-six months in a Saskatchewan community. In addition, the SHA also may offer Relocation Assistance.

Job Qualifications

Saskatchewan Health Authority requires an Anesthesiology Specialist who is certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Family Physicians with additional Anesthesiology training may be considered. The successful candidates must be registered or eligible to register with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) and be licensed to practice medicine in Saskatchewan. Physicians must maintain membership and insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to become a member of Practitioner Staff and provide care in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities.

Additional Information

The City of Yorkton is located in the southeast area of the province, with a population just under 20,000 people. The referral population for our specialty services is approximately 100,000; the area extends itself north, south and east across the Manitoba border. Over 50 Family Physicians may do referrals to this specialty.
