Nipawin is on two beautiful lakes in the parkland of Saskatchewan, there is ample employment and business opportunities that exist, along with a strong retail and service sector (distance from closest airport is 2.5 hours- Saskatoon, SK). Nipawin is the closest major community to the Fort à la Corne kimberlite field, one of the largest diamond-producing geological bodies in the world. It has the prospect of becoming the hub of activity in the new diamond industry in northeast Saskatchewan. It is also becoming a center for technology and innovation. The Nipawin Biomass Ethanol Project has been gaining international attention as a promising new enterprise in the alternative fuel industry. This project is leading the way in a cluster of bio-related industries in the Nipawin area.
