Job Description

Gastroenterologist Position – Saskatchewan Health Authority

Gastroenterologist – Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Saskatoon

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon, in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan, Department of Medicine, Saskatoon Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic and collegial team. Our division is comprised of 12 members with diverse clinical and academic interests, including hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), research, therapeutics, capsule endoscopy, motility disorders, and small bowel ultrasound.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in inpatient care and shared on-call rotation.
  • Regular access to endoscopy time.
  • Opportunities for teaching and collaborative research.
  • Appointments in both Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Saskatchewan.
  • Candidate responsible for leasing office space outside the hospital.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: Fee-for-service. Additional call stipend and retention bonus offered.

Benefits: Independent contractor position; benefits are the responsibility of the successful candidate.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Completion of a residency-training program in Internal Medicine and subspecialty training in Gastroenterology accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan as determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
