Job Description

The Regina Area with the Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a team-orientated and professional General Internal Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic and expanding department for a variety of locum dates.

The specialist will join our team of 14 internal medicine specialists, in a hospital based, fee-for-service internal medicine practice. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team providing a wide scope of internal medicine services.

The locum will have admitting and consulting privileges and provide service at our two acute care sites (Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital). The Pasqua Hospital, a community-based hospital and referral center, specializes in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Pediatric Oncology and is home to our Accountable Care Unit ( The Regina General Hospital, our trauma center represents all major surgical specialties, except transplant and is home to our Medical Teaching Unit.

Call coverage is a requirement for the position. In addition to fee-for-service, you would be eligible for any on-call retainer consistent with the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program.

Relocation Package

The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region will provide support for flights, accommodations and car rental during the locum coverage period.

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and be eligible for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan. Preference will be given to candidates with RCPSC designation in General Internal Medicine.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
