Job Description

Saskatoon Health Region, in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, is seeking applications for full time and part time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.

The successful candidate will hold appointments with the Saskatoon Health Region and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Psychiatry, possess a strong team approach and join a collegial group practice of 10 Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists who enjoy a broad scope of practice including outpatients, acute care and shared call responsibilities. The Department offers a Child and Adolescent subspecialty training program and the successful candidate will be involved in this subspecialty training program, the general training program, and medical student education. Preference will be given to candidates with Royal College certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and who have infant and inpatient practice experience.

Compensation:
• Candidates with Royal College Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry:
o Contract: $364,000 - $412,000; or fee for service if successful candidate prefers
o on call stipend is outside the contract. On call remuneration varies in accordance with variation in the on call rotation

• Candidates without Royal College Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry:
o fee for service
o on call stipend is outside fee for service earnings. On call remuneration varies in accordance with variation in the on call rotation

It is home to the newly constructed Academic Health Sciences Complex (http://library.usask.ca/hsl/new-building.php) and two of the largest science projects in the country – the Canadian Light Source synchrotron (www.lightsource.ca) and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization / International Vaccine Centre (www.vido.org). A users group is available for collaborative research with clinical faculty using the $173.5 million Canadian Light Source synchrotron, owned by the University of Saskatchewan. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold certification or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Preference will be given to candidates with Royal College certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
