We are seeking a team-oriented and professional Anesthesiologist to become part of our dynamic and expanding Department.
The Department of Anesthesia has a complement of 35 specialist Anesthesiologists with diverse interests. The successful candidate will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology service to the patients of southern Saskatchewan.
Our services are shared between two sites. The Regina General Hospital is our trauma centre representing all major surgical specialties, except transplant. Our Anesthesiologists provide full obstetric service. The Pasqua Hospital is a community hospital and referral centre specializing in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Pediatric Oncology.
Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00hrs. Our goal for the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region is to routinely operate 18 surgical theatres. Capacity is managed to allow for reduced theatres during the summer and holiday periods, allowing physicians and staff greater vacation opportunities. Call is 1:5 to 1:6 depending on holiday requests.
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. It is our expectation that the successful candidate will obtain a Clinical Faculty appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology.

The Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) has the Specialist Recruitment Incentive which was established in 2005 to recognize the commitments of specialists establishing practices in Saskatchewan. The grant provides $30,000 to an eligible specialist who establishes practice in a Saskatchewan community and remains in practice in that community for a minimum of 36 months.
The successful candidate will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology. Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Regina, Saskatchewan. Candidates should be eligible for regular license through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
