Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Neonatologist to join us as an independent contract specialist as part of our dynamic and expanding department.

The successful applicant will join a team of 4 neonatologists, neonatal care associates and neonatal nurse practitioners who provide services to newborns in NICU. Call would be shared with other physicians within the Neonatology group.

Our 26 bed neonatal intensive care unit provides level III care to newborns in southern Saskatchewan. We are a member of the Canadian Neonatal Network. We are supported by on-site maternal-fetal medicine services, neonatal air and ground transport, and a state of the art diagnostic imaging department and the newest technology in incubators, invasive and non-invasive monitoring, and ventilators. Our multidisciplinary team includes neonatal care associates, neonatal nurse practitioners, pharmacists, occupational therapist, physical therapist, nutritionists, and social work.

The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine and be eligible for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan.

Individuals with three to five years’ of Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine experience in a tertiary care setting will be given preference. Preference will also be given to individuals with faculty experience in post-graduate residency teaching programs.

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
